Transforming Cacao Husks into World's First Incense: A Sustainable Initiative
Thank you for your continued support of Bridge and Blend.
We produced "Cocoa Husk Incense" for VANILLABEANS, a craft chocolate specialty store from Yokohama.
Cacao husk is the outer skin of the "cocoa bean" that is the raw material for chocolate. It is often discarded during the chocolate manufacturing process. It would be a regrettable to throw away the mellow fragrance of cacao husk. We took on the challenge of creating a fragrance ingredient that would preserve the aroma of cacao while taking advantage of the roasted flavor of cacao husk, which is not a traditional ingredient in incense. We have now successfully commercialized the world's first* "cocoa husk incense" by upcycling this material into incense.
